Joomla search engine component

I am looking for a simple search engine component to be built that works with a drop down menu that will show thumbnails.

The drop down menu will have various catagories that are:
gender
age
eye colour
hair colour

the drop down menu will allow a user to select from the above list and then be presented with various thumbnails that match the search.
These thumbnails will have a template page linked that has more details.
Please see the attached files that illustrate what needs to be achieved.
