Indesign Project – Personal Interactive Pdf Resume

Scope of Project:
I would like you to create an Indesign and Pdf file from that, from the resources that I provide. The end product will be an interactive Pdf, which will be my Resume / CV for 2013.

I will provide the following:
• All Images that will be needed
• All Text for each and every page
• Illustrator CS5 files for each of the main pages – From this, you will then transfer this artwork and layout to Indesign to create the file, and then add in the relevant images, text, effects etc to create the final product – This will save you a lot of time, as you will then not need to create things from scratch in Indesign, unless it is easier for you
• All Roll over effects
• Clear instructions for each and every page, roll over, function and effect

The final Product you will create will be:
1. An Interactive Indesign file, for all the pages that are requested – This file must be clearly created so that it is easy to edit and insert new written content - The number of pages will probably vary depending on the format of the document, but I estimate it to be around +-10 pages
2. The Indesign file must have the following properties:
2.1. It must be responsive, that is adapt and display on all screen sizes
2.2. It must be interactive – it must have buttons and roll over effects on these buttons – these buttons must then jump to certain pages in the final Pd file when clicked on
2.3. It must be in CMYK format, so that anyone who wants to can print it easily
3. From this Indesign file, you will then export to Pdf. This Pdf will also be responsive, and must look the same on screen sizes etc This Pdf file will have the buttons, roll over effects and when the buttons are clicked on, it will jump to specific pages. You may link the buttons in the Pdf file, if that is easier
4. Optimise the file size of this Pdf to be as small as possible without losing any image quality, you can do this by auditing the space usage and optimising from there

Additional Requirements:
There may be times where you may have to source an image to complete the Project. But most images have been included.

We will have to discuss the size of the art board that we will begin with. This is so that the Pdf displays on all screen sizes, without losing any image or text quality and is also easy to print. At the moment, I feel that an A4 size artboard in landscape mode, would probably be best, as it can be printed, and then resized to fit most screens. If we agree on that, then the artwork on that sized artboard must be scaled to fit perfectly, so that when viewed on a 15 inch screen in Acrobat, or a 21 inch screen in Acrobat, it renders perfectly, and that images do not get distorted etc. You can advise on this?

The above, is to ensure that you are clearly aware, that in some instances, you may be required to go outside the scope of simply coding and perform a few additional functions. Please bear this in mind!

Applicant Requirements:
Applicants must know how to do the above-mentioned tasks, especially, the ability to create buttons, roll overs, and links to other pages in a pdf document. If you do not know how to do this, please do not apply!

Application Procedure:
Applicants must adhere to the following Procedure:

• Where possible, applicants must submit a URL to a Portfolio of work that they have done, as I will need to see if you have the experience to complete this Project. If you do not have a URL, please send me at least one Pdf document, which you have created with the above effects

• This Project will be open for Applications for 7 days, at the end of this time; I will short list candidates. They will then be sent a link to a Google Drive folder. This folder will contain Instructions, for the entire Project, as well as text, Jpeg and Illustrator files, so that candidates can see the design and lay out and what exactly needs to be done

• If you have been shortlisted and have the necessary ability, once you have gone through the Google Drive folder, then we can negotiate a time frame, depending on how busy you are and how much time the Project will take to code

• If you have not been shortlisted, I apologise in advance, as I will not be able to get back to you, to let you know that you have been unsuccessful. So if you have not heard back from me when this Project closes, please consider your application unsuccessful, as it will be time prohibitive for me to let you know
