We are looking for an experienced web developer or web development company for our new online marketplace website. This is a significant project so we are looking for someone who is great and has a passion to do it right. Developer must be a good communicator.

The functional specification is attached.

We are looking for experienced programmers to develop the core functions and features of the web application. Although you will not be doing the design work, the website functions must be well structured and laid out so that we can easily do the design work when we require.

Database Design architect and Real-Time engine developer:
The developed website system should be flexible but completely secure, and made in a way that iPhone, Android and other popular mobile applications can access its user-generated data and display it in real-time on the mobile applications. We intend to develop the mobile applications at a later date so it is very important that the website system is developed in a way that all its user-generated content and features can be easily synchronised and displayed in real-time on smartphones, tablets, PDA’s and other popular mobile devices.

For example:
-The website system should be developed in a way that users who have already signed up on the website can use the same login information to sign into the mobile application when it is developed.
-The website system should be developed in a way that items listed on the site can also displayed in real-time on the mobile application when it is developed.

We need the core system of the website to be developed in such a way that it will enable the above actions to happen, and other similar actions.

The project will be split into 3 phases:

PHASE 1
Timeline: 3 weeks
Functions:
-Database development to store all user generated content, information, data; for example email addresses, passwords, details of listing activities and so on.
-User registration/login
-Notifications & Alerts

PHASE 2
Timeline: 5 weeks
Functions:
-Buyer and Seller activities (Focus on user generated content)
-Full Social Media integration features and notifications
-Location based listing and management on several categories
-GPS Locator; buyers and sellers can see exactly where each other are on the map and get directions to meet each other
-User profiles and activity pages

PHASE 3
Timeline: 3 weeks
Functions:
-Payments System; There will be financial transactions made through the site so the system must be fully secure
-Our service information pages i.e. About, How It Works, FAQs, Terms and Conditions, Mobile Apps (see www.whipcar.com/howitworks for how we would like these information pages to function)

We will pay you for each completed phase. Please provide quotes for each phase.

Although we will happily consider freelancers, we're more interested in companies as we require commitment to a 6 months post implementation support and also on-going support of the site for which we would consider signing a maintenance contract.

This is an urgent requirement and I'm looking for someone who can start within the next 2 weeks and commit to an 11 weeks completion. If you feel you need longer to complete the project, please let me know how long you need to complete it and I will be happy to consider it. Please note that whatever new time is agreed will be binding and delivery will have to be met on the date otherwise, the project will be cancelled and no payment made.
