Help to make sure Google Hangouts record onto my Youtube account

I recently held a Google Hangout with a contact in Canada which live streamed on my Google Plus page put it didn't seem to record successfully in my Youtube account. After the interview there was just a blank/black space for the video in my youtube account and it has since disappeared.

I just need some help to make sure it is set up properly so next time a recording appears in youtube which I can post on my site (like this which someone did from their youtube account: http://www.jonathanlea.net/2013/interview-with-luke-havard/
