The functions below would have to be incorporated into the site if they are not yet

These will be some key components of the site


Members:
By default, every members has the right to organise an event.
The member can choose to make the event private - Only invite his connections, (All or selected ones) or make the event public meaning a notification will be sent to all members within that city.
The admin has the right to restrict members right, e.g. remove the ability to organise events.
Members who go to the same events are automatically included in each others circle(think facebook friendship) - They can now chat with each others etc...
Member can decide to remove some of their connections - In case people didn't get on at the event.
After the events members can rate the events and the deals (stars)
There need to be a newsfeed/activity on all page, members should be able to see new members joining in, new public events, who rsvp to what event, who is now connected to who. etc... The social network dimension of the site is very important.
Admin can put up deals similar to groupon -
3 courses meals for 15 euros (50% discount) for members to pick - Members could go to deals or calendar to see list of the deals available and pick one to have as an event.
Availability - Only available Monday and Wednesday etc... I need to be able to link it to a calendar have it as a one off deal, weekly one(Pick the days in the week they are available for), Monthly one (What days in the month they are available). Expiry date of the deals. (Think recurring events in the outlook calendar)
Set a minimum number of guests before the event becomes live and members bank cards get charged.
I might have missed a few things here but the social dimension is crucial to the site.

Activities: The activity feeds bar should show on the right just like on facebook, it should display activities on the site.

Guests - Non signed up members should be able to see the activities rolling and updating but can't click through and follow unless they are signed up.
