Dynamic drop down list

I have a dynamic drop down list which is populated from a mysql database. This list is getting too large for users to scroll down to make a selection.

I would like the user to type in the characters of they selection and for the appropriate records to they be shown for them to select I guess this will be javascript. If their required record is not listed to then have an option for them to add the record. -

Database is mysql rest of the programming is php and html. No need to style I just want the basic coding so I will do the rest.


eg if they want Church Farm

as they are typing Church
selections showing: Church Farm
Church Yard
Church Equestrian
