Description
Experience Level: Expert
Estimated project duration: 1 - 2 weeks
General information for the website: www.emaintain.co.uk Online Job Management Site for our maintenance works. Watch the video for info.
Database management system (DBMS): Microsoft SQL Server
Kind of development: Customization of existing website
Description of requirements/features: We have a .NET framework website with CSS and Microsoft SQL Server database system that was developed by a medium sized software development firm. The site largely works well and i dont want to tamper in anyway with the current system i simply want to export the data better. Currently we have a "rotating dashboard" that illustrated the different jobs in different categories. I still want this but the pages are not displayed well. I expected to see far more information and better fitted to our office monitor.
I do know that the company did have issues with this but i dont understand why. If the data is held in the database can it not be exported in to good looking: charts, tables, graphs etc easily? I would like to stand in front of the monitor for 5 mins and no exactly where we are with the 70 or so jobs on it at one time.
To place an order i would require a fixed quotation for the works and examples of how you would envisage the data being displayed.
We have several different categories of job: Pre-Quoted (i.e. no quote prepared yet), Quoted, Instructed, Awaiting materials, awaiting specialist, awaiting client, completed.
The financial data is received via a developed "live" link with our in house Sage on our server. I'm not specifically looking for the financial data more the statistics around what jobs need done, whats been on longest, whats been instructed for a long time but not completed, the amount of time a job has been sitting in its category etc.
The advertising of this job is no guarantee we will proceed with the work. If we are presented with a suitable proposal that we are happy with then we will proceed.
