Description
Experience Level: Expert
Estimated project duration: 3 - 4 weeks
I currently supply support and development services for one of my clients, but this job represents more days effort than I provide alone, so I need a partner to help deliver it.
Application description:
Data entry application to support a data warehouse.
The app consists of a fairly complex home page presenting data from a number of datasets with some fairly simple data updates associated with it.
There are 3 (maybe 4) additional pages linked to from the home page each with data update requirements ranging from fairly simple to moderately difficult.
User access security with be performed through AD - code for this already exists.
No AJAX style processing should be required - straightforward C# / ASP.Net code should suffice.
All rendered page elements should be tagged with CSS style assignments to facilitate restyling of the application as required in the future. There is no significant graphical component to the application.
What I will provide on starting the job:
The existing 'mock-up' application which consists of a Visual Studio 2008 solution and C# files. This application was used to model the user interface and get a better understanding of the requirements. Bits of this application work - some bits are broken or are just mockups with dummy data / faked behaviour.
The existing app uses table based layout for the output - some of this would be better modified to use DIVs instead.
This application can be used as a basis for the development and provides a general indication of the required application architecture.
A SQL Server (2005) database backup will be provided which will contain all of the reference data needed to support the application, together with table structures for the new application and a number of stored procedures used to support the functionality. The stored procedures are incomplete and will need modifying. Additional stored procedures will be required to complete all required functionality.
What you will need:
Plenty of C# and SQL Server 2005 experience.
Good SQL skills.
A development environment for the C# project (VS 2008) and SQL Server development
A signed NDA will be required before the existing app and database will be provided and before work can start (I will provide this document - it should be a formality)
Code updates will be required every 2-3 days so I can track progress and better plan UAT dates with the client.
Availability to Skype in order to discuss any issues will be an advantage.
What you can expect from me:
As well as the existing application code and database I will supply the requirements document which describes all of the necessary functionality.
I will provide an FTP location through which data and code and be shared.
I will try to answer any questions / address issues raised as quickly as possible.
Estimated effort:
Expected effort for the development is around 10 days, although there may be additional modifications etc. arising from UAT (which will take place shortly after the completed delivery) which could amount to another 5 days.
Start date: ASAP, certainly within 4 weeks.
I'm happy to answer questions regarding the job where I can before you submit a formal proposal.
Thanks
