UPDATE: All we need from the designer is a design. An image created inFireworks or Photoshop (preferably Fireworks) would be fine. Also, some kind of concept of which elements of the page are visible on thehomepage and content pages, whether links change colour when they arehovered over, etc... Sorry for any confusion.
A community Web site for the people of Milton Keynes to get together and help guide the future direction of Milton Keynes. The aim being to have development in keeping with the existing original master plan and not tagged on.
Milton Keynes is a vibrate self effacing, designed New City in the South East of England. Founded in 1967 the area has grown from 40,000 people to 230,000 in the space of 40 years.
Now Milton Keynes is facing new challenges as the plan for the next 40 years is created there is no forum for the people of the New City to present their ideas and express their concerns.
We require a design not an actual site building. We will be using Joomla! for the content management system and will be providing our own site copy. The request here is purely for a concept and design for the site.
The design must keep in mind the following website structure
-A front page with news feeds, latest form posts, mission statement.
and links to:
-A forum page (provided by Joomla!)
-A contact us/mailing list.
-Maybe a photo page if we can find some reasonably.
The website concept must be original and inspiring, bright, Focused on Milton Keynes, its design concepts, Grid Roads, planned development etc. and its key buildings (The CentreMK shopping Centre, The Point, XScape, Open University, The Church, The Stadium, etc).
The copyright and all other intellectual rights of the work will be transferred to Beyond Midnight Ltd. Any artwork or images used must be free of copy right or have the rights of use included (These could be paid for on top of any fee if stock image purchase is required).
Although the design is not intended to deliver the technical aspects of the website it must consider (and not prevent) the following technical requirements:
-Must be Google Adwords/Analytics friendly
-Must be Google optimisable
-Must be designed to be implemented with the Joomla! content system friendly. See www.joomla.org for examples of what is possible.
-Must support easy update by non technical resource.
-Must not use flash or other advanced website features such as HTML5.
-Must not require the use of excessive DHMTL.
Up to 4 initial design ideas will be presented and if satisfactory one will be selected for further development. The final deliverable will consist of the design and artwork including mock ups of the website. The material provided must be suitable for the website developers to deploy via Joomla!.
Key words: Professional, Fun, Community, Planned, Postive.
