Platform Message Board Icons

We are looking for someone to design 7 small icons for our platform message board to sit next to a short message and link.

The 7 images to represent are:
Renewal Information
Essentials
Ideas
Staff CPD
Update
Competition
News

Attached (Icon Development Ideas) is the process we are currently in. We are stuck at 'DB Informal Drafts' as we did not like the work of a previous designer 'Recent Designer Drafts'. In the doc includes our 'Existing Icons' we use in other areas on our platform so we want them some what similar but not identical. I'd like to see your ideas for one image and then I can give you the go ahead to continue designing the remaining 6.

I have also included the colour palette (SAM_Colours) we use across our website however we are open to other colours as long as they are in the same shade. I'd like to note we are looking for a white background with no square framing as you can see in the attached image (Message Board Screen Grab) it wouldn't look right.

I am looking to get this started with you tomorrow AM.
