Description
Experience Level: Intermediate
Information for the business: Furniture and upcycling accessories to be sold online
Type of logo: Word mark, Pictorial mark, Emblem
Brand name/slogan in logo: Want That Room
Ideas for the visual style: Contemporary, instantly recognisable
Things to avoid: Anything too busy
Preferred colors: Not too busy
Where the design will be used: print, web, uniforms, vehicle wraps, signs
Extra notes: I am looking for a logo to be designed for my new company, which can be used in print, on my website, stitched onto t-shirts and aprons and as signage.
I am starting a company called Want That Room. I am going to be providing my clients with 3 things:
o A bespoke furniture upcycling service, taking customer commissions.
o Selling already upcycled furniture as a stock product.
o Selling upcycling and furniture related accessories as a product (ie brushes, chalk paints, knobs and handles, and possibly other ‘home’ accessories such as lamps, signs, ceramics etc) as an alternative income stream to support the main business idea. I am going to bring out my own bespoke hand painted ceramic knob/handle range.
My style isn't typical shabby chic (I personally think that this has been overdone). I like to fuse old and new - think along the lines of old style ornate furniture with modern or modern-retro prints, patterns and colours. To give some context, I love Orla Keely, the John Lewis seed head design, bold stripes, geometric patterns and bold colours.
My business will heavily labour the bespoke element. Some key themes I want to convey include: unique pieces, quality, skilfully and lovingly hand crafted, imaginative, visionary, eye catching, colourful, current, standout, quirky, different, simple but effective, not fussy, outstanding customer service.
What I believe my customer to be like:
• Private and/or commercial.
• Likes to be different, or to own something unique.
• Takes pleasure in handmade and handcrafted items.
• Prefers quality over quantity.
• Has the disposable income to pay for something hand sourced and handcrafted, and are happy to do so.
• Internet savvy.
• Someone looking to try upcycling themselves, and requiring some guidance, inspiration and/or materials.
My business will have a strong social media presence, and the design needs to support this. I plan to sell and expand brand awareness primarily over the internet.
