Colour/Pantone Code clarification needed

Hello,

I need someone to translate a pantone code into a generic code. I previously worked with a graphic designer who supplied a colour pantone code but the code he has given does not show up when I try and use it. He has sent the code in a 4 digit format when it needs to be in a 6 digit format such as #FD606C (Please note this code is just an example) to be used.

This is a split second job for someone who knows what they are doing.
