Put patches on mens jeans

Hi all,
Im off to a 60s retro event and want to wear some patched jeans. I'm now in my 60s so my old loon pants don't quite fit as well (they've somehow shrunk over the years)!
I do have an old pair of jeans that are comfy and I'd really love patches put on these.
I'm looking for a 'masculine' look (if you get my meaning) .... not embroidery and hearts and flowers ..... More Neil Young than 'designer' or punk
