I would like to see how to optimise a room for dining space and seek your help to illustrate different configurations (listed below) so we can see the space plotted with tables, chairs and place settings. The overall dimensions are attached and the doors are plotted on the plan. Just the one single door from the hallway (which is 3’ wide/deep when open into the room and opens back almost flush to the window adjacent) would presumably be left open for the duration of any function and to allow staff to keep coming in and out… The other 2 sets of doors are both 2’ deep. Only the one nearest the single door might otherwise be kept open during a function (they don’t fold back) but the other pair would likely be kept closed (if for no other reason than the snug room behind it would probably store all the furniture removed from the drawing room to clear the space for dining).
I've attached photos of the room too so you can envisage it better.
The table configurations I want to see plotted are as follows:
2 trestles running parallel to the length of the room 7.2m long and each 0.76m wide (48-64 chairs?)
1 trestle running the length of the room 7.2m long and 0.76m wide (24-32 chairs?)
1 trestle running the length of the room 5.4m long 1.2m wide (20-28 chairs?)
1 double width trestle running the length of the room 5.4m long 2.4m wide (24-32 chairs?)
2 6' round tables (20-24 people)
2 5' round tables
3 5' round tables
3 4' round tables
1 4' and 2 5' round tables
and any other suggestions of the configurations for different dining arrangements?
Of course, we would clear out any furniture necessary from the room when it is converted to a dining space! Do let me know if you have any questions and if you need any other specific measurements from me?
Please advise how long it might take you to do this? Perhaps you can do it one way so I can see and confirm first before tackling all of them - just to be sure we understand one another?!!
Many thanks,
Toni
