CEng Structural Engineer for Residential Loft & Extension

Project Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Chartered Structural Engineer (CEng) to take over a residential project, The previous engineer provided drawings but failed to issue the structural calculations and has become unresponsive. Building Control (Stroma) requires full calculations to sign off the works.

Scope of Work:
Part A: Loft, First Floor, and Roof (As-Built Verification & Calculations)
The loft structure is already built based on the previous engineer's drawings.
You will need to verify section sizes, spans, bearings, and padstones.
Provide full calculations for every beam, post, padstone, lintel, floor, and roof member shown on the plans.
Part B: Ground Floor & Rear Extension (New Calculations)
Provide calculations for foundations, floor slab, beams, lintels, posts, and pads.
Incorporate three specific architectural amendments:
Retaining an internal wall to add a pocket door (verifying if an existing cranked beam can be omitted/reduced).
Changing a 1.80m rear window to a 2.40m bifold (designing the head for the supplier's deflection limit).
Reducing the size of a side window (verifying if previously specified SHS posts and pad footings can be reduced).

Mandatory Requirements:
All calculations must be to Eurocodes.

Must be willing to work with Building Control inspector (Stroma) to resolve any technical queries.

Deliverables:
Full structural calculations to Eurocodes.
Existing structural drawings (S01–S03) re-issued with revision control, taking design responsibility.
A steel schedule including grades, finishes, and required fire protection periods (the loft floor is ~5.6m above ground floor level).
