Reconfigure 5 page word document into booklet format

Design details: The document is an instruction manual for a product and includes graphics, photos and text. I just need help reformatting it from its current 8.5 x 11, one-sided portrait style to a folded 8.5 x 5.5 format. The final document can stay in MS Word or be brought into Illustrator or In Design, whatever works best.
Ideas for the visual style: clean, simple
Where the design will be used: printed instructions included with product
Extra notes: This should be a simple project for someone with decent layout skills. All of the elements are in the available Word document and just need to be reconfigured so the new document is smaller and looks more professional then it currently does. There will be a bit of a challenge fitting the current 5 pages into what is essentially an 8 page booklet (two 8.5 x 11 pages folded down the center) but we can fill pages with extra photos etc.
