Description
Experience Level: Intermediate
Information for the business: Medical Textbook
Industry: Art and Design
Design details: We would like the cover designed for a textbook for people applying to be medical students. The theme is an aspirational image of what people want to be i.e. a doctor. It would involve having an outline of a medical student which is genderless/ethnically neutral so anyone can be them: there would be two versions of the book: one with a pixelated/blurred out head (for online) and one with a space for a mirror/foil to be inserted where the head should be so that people can use their own reflection in the image.
This is what would be needed:
1. A large mirror covering the front cover.
1. Oval foil/mirror for head in the mirror, making it look as big as possible. The online version would be some kind of pixelated box so people can see themselves as the medical student.
2. Shoulders/upper body- this needs to say DOCTOR/MEDICAL STUDENT. Gender neutral, with a stethoscope over the shoulders. No skin so ethically neutral. Wearing either scrubs, or a tie/shirt or a white coat.
3. If possible medical paraphenalia in the background. E.g. a bookshelf with our other publications in the background: (www.unofficialguidetomedicine.com). A skeleton for learning antomy.
Target audience: Teenagers applying to medical school
Ideas for the visual style: professional
Extra notes: needs to look professional and serious, and as far as possible match the style of previous titles.
The book title is "The Unofficial Guide to Getting Into Medical School"
By Bogdan Chiva Giurca
I have attached previous book covers.
Please if interested, can you send through samples of your work, and initial concept of what you might do for this piece.

Are you asking for the idea behind the artwork or a sketch with the bid?
