Description
Design details: We are looking for a talented artist that is able to ORIGINATE a creative design from a very simple brief given by the company. Please have a look at our website www.delamerie.com which has some examples of designs that have been made by very talented artists. We are looking for somebody who will be able to create more modern yet contemporary designs. We like for example Matthew Williamson's ideas which are very trendy.
The individual must be able to Originate artwork so have an artistic flare and able to be creative and clever with the design that will be produced. This will be an ongoing enquiry and several designs will need to be created so at this point I do not have a single brief. I would like individuals to first off all send their portfolios of work they have done in the past so we can select good artist to start our designs. We are happy for artwork to be originated on paper if artist can not produce computerised designs. The most important thing for us is to employ a talented artist with good ideas. Price structure can be negotiated depending on what an artist expects for originating a design for 30cm Dinner Plate. Please apply with portfolios as I must see examples of work first before I go anywhere further.
Target audience: Artists that can Originate a design
Ideas for the visual style: Modern/Contemporary
Where the design will be used: on chinaware (Plates, cups, hollowware)

Hi Sophia, I was flagged up for this job and I've read the brief. I have a quick question just to clarify something please, in your brief you specify that you're looking for a talented artist, highly skilled and original etc, but on the project budget you've said that you're looking for someone of average skill who will therefore charge a lot less.
Would you be able to ball park the price bracket that you're anticipating investing in this design please, just so people bidding can get a clear idea of what you're expecting of them. Thanks.Sophia K.17 Jan 2018Hi Jack,
Thank you for your message. I was not sure which option to select so you are right it is better to clarify the ball park figure so I get proposals that may come perhaps from the "more expensive" bidders too. To be honest I did not want to exclude the less expensive artists too as sometimes you can find really good artists which are actually very well priced. I am working with one at the moment and this lady is just amazing! Her pricing is very reasonable. I guess the ball park figure per design that I would expect to pay would be approx. £150-350 depending on the complexity of the design that the artist is required to create. Sometimes we may ask for a full plate design and sometimes we may ask for animals for example to be beautifully presented on our plates (colorful animals that nicely wrap around the plate for example). Sometimes the designs we want will be very ornate yet modern that we may require. I hope this helps but let me know if any of you need any more information.
Regards,
