Project Title: Realistic Diamond Jewelry Renders from OBJ Files
Project Overview:
We are seeking a skilled 3D renderer to transform OBJ files of diamond jewelry into exceptionally high-quality, photorealistic images. This initial project focuses on a single diamond bracelet, which if done well, will result for a long-term engagement involving hundreds of additional jewelry pieces.
Our Need:
We require stunning, visually compelling renders that accurately capture the brilliance, fire, and intricate details of diamond jewelry. The goal is to produce images that are indistinguishable from professional photography, suitable for e-commerce, marketing, and client presentations. Additionally, we need to be able to display these designs in an interactive 3D view on our website, similar to the functionality seen on https://www.bluenile.com/engagement-rings/design-your-own-ring/blue-nile-studio-heiress-halo-diamond-engagement-ring-in-14k-white-gold-item-203775.
Key Requirements:
Software Proficiency: The ideal candidate must be highly proficient in KeyShot and/or Rhino (or a comparable industry-standard rendering software known for superior jewelry rendering capabilities).
OBJ File Handling: You will receive OBJ files directly from our factory. It is crucial that you have a robust workflow to efficiently import these files, even if initial material separations are not present. You must be able to expertly separate and identify individual components (metal parts, each diamond, and any other elements) within the imported model to apply distinct materials.
Realistic Material Application:
Diamonds: Ability to apply physically accurate diamond materials that showcase optimal dispersion ("fire"), brilliance, and sparkle.
Metals: Proficiency in applying realistic precious metal materials (e.g., various karats of gold, platinum, silver) with appropriate reflections, textures, and finishes.
Expert Lighting & Composition: Strong understanding of lighting principles to create environments (e.g., using HDRIs, studio lighting) that maximize the visual impact and realism of the jewelry, emphasizing reflections and diamond sparkle. A keen eye for compelling camera angles and composition is essential.
Quality Output: Deliver final renders in high-resolution formats (e.g., PNG, JPG) suitable for various marketing and display needs.
3D Interactive View Creation: Ability to export or process the 3D model (from the OBJ source, after material application) into a format suitable for web-based interactive 3D viewing within shopify. This may involve specific mesh optimization, texture baking, and knowledge of formats like glTF/GLB or optimized OBJ sequences/sprites for smooth online display.
Confidentiality: Jewelry designs are sensitive and proprietary. Strict adherence to confidentiality and data security is paramount.
Project Scope (Initial Phase):
The first deliverable will be a set of high-quality renders and the necessary files for the interactive 3D view for a single diamond bracelet. We expect multiple angles/compositions for the static renders and a fully functional interactive 3D model for this piece to fully assess your capabilities.
Future Potential:
Upon successful completion and satisfaction with the initial bracelet renders and interactive 3D view, we anticipate a need for ongoing rendering services for a large volume of additional jewelry pieces (hundreds of unique designs, for which we can discuss price later). We are seeking a long-term rendering partner.
Deliverables:
High-resolution photorealistic images of the diamond bracelet (specific number of angles/compositions to be agreed upon).
Files for web-based interactive 3D view (e.g., optimized OBJ/MTL, glTF/GLB, or image sequence/sprite sheet for animated view if applicable).
Source KeyShot scene file (optional, but preferred for future reference/consistency).
The price given is for a trial project, if done well, our budget extends to a much higher level given the large amount of files that need processing.
To Apply:
Please provide examples of your previous high-quality (jewelry) rendering work, particularly those involving diamonds and precious metals. Detail your experience with OBJ file import and material separation challenges, and your preferred software and workflow, including any experience with generating assets for interactive 3D web viewers.
