Description
Experience Level: Intermediate
Estimated project duration: 3 - 4 weeks
Information for the business: Indie games studio
Industry: Internet/Software
Design details: I need a knife wielding crazy lady for use in a 2D horror game set in space. She is one of the baddies who will attack the player, so she needs to be in muted, drab colors (to differentiate her from the brightly colored, clean looking hero).
The two key components to this crazy space girl are the space part and the crazy part. This game takes place on a space station, so she needs to look appropriately futuristic/spacey. As for the crazy, she has a bad case of space madness so she should look disheveled, dirty, and disturbing. All in all, as it is a horror game she should look like someone that you wouldn't want to see coming at you at full sprint out of the darkness.
KEY POINT:
My game engine is using key frame animation, which means that I need the illustration in a very particular style. First, the character needs to be in flat side profile. Second, and most importantly, I need all of the posable limbs for the character (and her knife) to be separated, so that I can fit them together, pose, and animate them within the game engine. See the uploaded sample to get an idea of what I mean when I say separated limbs.
Target audience: A mature gaming/horror crowd.
Ideas for the visual style: Horror, disturbing, sci-fi.
Things to avoid: Puppies. Possibly kittens.
Preferred colors: Drab, muddy colors.
Where the design will be used: In an upcoming 2D horror game
Extra notes: The uploaded sample shows how I want the finished graphic to look. I need all of the posable limbs and weapons to be separated for use in the game engine. The sample is the hero of the game, in all his disassembled glory.
