Description
Experience Level: Entry
Hi,
Please read the task description below
You are to produce three separate architectural drawings (maps) based on my site at Park Square, Brighton Marina.
Each map must:
• Be set up on A2
• Be print-ready
• Include a north arrow and scale bar
• Be at the correct scale
• Be clean, legible, and architectural
The final delivery should be one PDF with 3 pages (one map per page).
MAP 1 — CONTEXT MAP
Scale: 1:1000
What you are doing:
You are showing where my site sits within Brighton Marina.
This map show:
• The wider Brighton Marina context
• Surrounding buildings as simple block outlines
• Main roads and circulation routes
• Open space / water edge if visible
• Park Square clearly highlighted (circle, outline, or light shading)
Graphic rules:
• Minimal detail
• Simple linework
• Neutral colours
• One clear highlight for the site
Required annotations:
• North arrow
• Scale bar
• Text: Scale 1:1000
• Title: Context Location Plan – Brighton Marina
MAP 2 — IMMEDIATE SITE PLAN
Scale: 1:100
What you are doing:
You are showing exactly what physically exists on the site.
This map must show:
• Exact boundary of Park Square
• Ground surfaces / paving
• Kerbs and edges
• Bike racks and bollards
• Edges of surrounding buildings
• Pedestrian / cyclist access routes
• Proposed Bothy footprint clearly marked and labelled
Graphic rules:
• Clear line hierarchy
• Building edges heavier than paving
• Legible, architectural drawing
Required annotations:
• North arrow
• Scale bar
• Text: Scale 1:100
• Title: Detailed Site Plan – Park Square
MAP 3 — SITE ANALYSIS MAP
Scale: 1:1000
What you are doing:
You are explaining why this site is suitable for the Bothy.
This map must show (choose 3–4 only):
• Pedestrian movement
• Areas of exposure vs shelter
• Rider waiting / activity zones
• Environmental conditions (e.g. wind direction)
How this should be drawn:
• Arrows
• Dashed lines
• Light shading
• Simple circles
• Short labels (1–3 words max)
Graphic rules:
• Diagrammatic, not technical
• Clear, uncluttered
• Focused on explanation
Required annotations:
• North arrow
• Scale bar
• Text: Scale 1:1000
VERY IMPORTANT REQUIREMENTS
• All maps must print correctly at scale
• Do not use “fit to page” scaling
• Scale bars must measure correctly when printed
• Drawings must be suitable for first-year architectural submission
Your task is only to complete the three maps listed above.
Thank you.
