Website Article Design/Typography Required

Description of every page: My website needs the article design modifying to look as attractive and readable as possible. The style needs to fit in with the established design of the website. The design could be carried out as a psd which my web developer would convert, however I am open to all options.

Where possible I would appreciate:
• Examples of any work you have done which would be relevant to this project.
• Your thoughts on how you might approach this.


Article Layout

General page layout
What this page needs is:
• Improved main heading (The best herbs that reduce blood pressure) that stands out more
• Improved subheadings
• The first letter in the article needs improving. It needs to be more striking.
• The body text needs to be more readable. For me, in long articles where the text is not broken up (see page 2 below), it looks too small and not as readable as it could be.
• Images need to be optimised to look as good as possible. I have used several image sizes in this just to experiment. I need a format I can use throughout all my articles. Whilst the first image which is the largest looks most striking, site speed is also important as whilst it is hosted in the US it also serves the UK and other countries. Perhaps using frames around the images would make them look better and allow smaller sizes? The images on this page look fine but have no backgrounds.
• Image captions need to look better (Check the second image garlic) and better spaced.
• Link text needs to be implemented and look better. At the moment there isn't any. If you look at the link in the article 'lifestyle changes' - I have just bolded it and changed it's colour.
• Need icons adding for twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, Google plus, email
 
 
Improved study layouts
Scroll down to where it first says '+ Show me the Studies' Now click this. This pops open the studies briefly discussed in the preceding paragraphs. It is using a simple plugin to do this. The layout for these study sections needs to look much better.
• The entire layout for these studies needs improving with improved titles
• Improved layout and spacing
• The 'show me the studies' text that opens the studies needs to look better.

• This is a page consisting mostly of text and nothing else. This highlights what I said earlier about the body text needing to be improved to be larger and more readable. It looks too plain and it would be cumbersome to just read through all that.
• I need block text quotes designing for where I want to use large text quotations
