River Map Illustration (Hamble & Warsash) Adobe Illustrator

Create a clean, on-brand illustrated river map for Yak Shack showing where it’s good to paddle on the River Hamble (Hamble-le-Rice & Warsash). The final artwork must match our visual style (see brand notes below), be 100% editable in Adobe Illustrator, and include a clear legend with coloured zones indicating where to paddle and where to avoid.

What to draw

Base: Simplified vector map of the River Hamble covering Hamble-le-Rice & Warsash.

Land & water: Land can be a simple, clean green; water kept clear and uncluttered.

Key features (vector icons OK):

Marinas, a few pontoons, and moorings.

Jetty next to the foreshore car park — show clearly and mark with an “X” + label: “Do not launch from the foreshore pontoon.”

Launch Zone — draw this area in more detail (show slipway, etc.).

Labeling rules:

Keep all writing well-contrasted and clear over the background.

Keep labels clear of marinas, pontoons, and moorings (leave buffer space).

Use hand-drawn style arrows with Yak Shack Yellow callouts for key notes.

Zones (use colors, not just X’s):

Include a legend/key showing colored zones (e.g., “Recommended Paddle Zone,” “Caution/Busy Traffic,” “No-Go/Restricted”).

Apply subtle, readable overlays on the water for each zone.

Style guide (must follow)

Brand feel: Minimal, friendly, outdoorsy; integrate our doodle background subtly (as a faint texture/pattern) so the map feels part of the brand.

Colors:

Yak Shack Yellow: #F4C458 (for callouts/arrows and key accents)

Black & White (core brand)

Land: clean, simple green (designer to choose a muted tone that keeps labels readable)

Water & zone overlays: keep subtle and high-contrast with labels; avoid clashing with brand yellow.

Typography: Outfit — SemiBold for the title, Regular for subheads and body text.

Title on the map: “Hamble-le-Rice & Warsash — Paddle Guide”

Annotations & callouts

All informational callouts should be in Yak Shack Yellow (#F4C458) with hand-drawn arrows, with the text adjacent to the arrow tip.

Include the specific callout: “Do not launch from the foreshore pontoon.” (with an X on the location).

Add clear directional hints or simple wayfinding where useful, without clutter.

Deliverables

Primary: Editable .AI (Adobe Illustrator) file with well-organized, named layers:

Branding on map: Yak Shack logo (we’ll supply), YakShack.co set discreetly.

Usage: Full commercial usage rights transferred on payment.
