I am looking for a detailed planting plan to be designed for our existing garden. There are 2 (connected) flower beds that need planting but this project may lead to more work in future as we have other garden areas that need attention at a later date.
The beds are a 1m x 6.5m bed that will be underneath pleached cherry laurel trees running along side the patio, and a 4.4m x 0.6m bed between an old brick wall/patio.
Please note existing pics do not show completed garden (patio, pleached trees and lawn to be finished)
The main flower bed gets sun pretty much all day until around 4/5pm. The narrow bed (along the wall) gets a bit less sun in the morning but more in the late afternoon/early evening so both are sunny areas.
In terms of what we are looking for, I can provide a number of pictures for inspiration. We would like a soft but contemporary look, and would prefer to stick to a limited colour palette of lots of vibrant green (we like ferns, and grasses like Hakonechloa Macra) and possibly white perennials but overall prefer low maintenance evergreens. We are also hoping to add something at height along the cedar slatted fence to break up the view, and had thought about a couple of potted bay or olive trees but are unsure of how this might tie into the cherry laurel /rest of the planting. Plus, it's not the deepest flower bed (60cm). Maybe there is a better solution we haven’t thought of. Open to ideas.
