Description
Experience Level: Intermediate
Information for the business: Vietnamese Noodle Bar
Industry: Food and Beverage
Design details: Hi,
Me and My wife are going to be opening a Vietnamese noodle bar cafe in a medium to large town in Devon.
Our goal is to serve healthy and affordable food in a 'fast food' type of manner, targeting people who are on the go.
We have a very nice premises lined up that is currently in the process of being renovated. It is in a prominent position and fully glazed on two sides. We are aiming to open in December, but would want most of our design work to be completed long before then.
Our town is already saturated with 'Tea room' style cafes, and probably the most significant thing that we want to achieve with our branding is to firmly differentiate ourselves from these, particularly in terms of speed - it is our goal that people should be able to come in, order (and pay) at the till, and have their food brought to them in a matter of minutes.
The interior will be fairly simple, with large bench style tables and seating, such as Wagamamas is known for.
In total we're looking for:
- a logo and general design concept (One idea we're keen on is to get the logo engraved / inlaid into the table tops, so this needs to be borne in mind during design).
- a fairly comprehensive scheme for vinyl graphics on the windows (This will in effect be the exterior signage, and as such a very significant part of the design package).
- interior signage (we probably won't have individual menus, so this will need to describe and display the food, as well as make crystal clear to people walking in what the procedure is for ordering etc.).
- website (we'll probably start small with this and build it from there, however ideally, in addition to information about the cafe etc., we'd also like some fun cartoony graphics (possibly animations) and information about Vietnam / our dishes).
- disposable paper placemats (i would expect that these could be made using predominantly content from the website).
- a business card and small advert for local press.
- advice and guidance on the interior design of the cafe may be useful, but is not essential.
Who are we looking for?
- Anyone who can help us with any of the above. We're not necessarily fixed on the idea of one person doing it all, so if you think you can do one part of it particularly well but not others, then still feel free to get in touch.
- Being local to Devon is a bonus but not essential - we don't actually have much time to meet or talk during business hours anyway, so doing it via skype and email is fine.
- Knowledge of what pho noodles are will be big bonus also.
- Experience of working specifically with cafes and restaurants is important.
Please contact us with information about yourselves, examples of previous work, and a general idea of costs (although this can be refined and finalised as we talk more). If you were able to do some initial concepts for us at a fixed price, that might be beneficial so we could commission some samples (possibly from a few different people) before proceeding with the whole job.
Ideas for the visual style: Generally clean and minimalist, but as mentioned possible to involve some more fun and illustrative content on website
Urls to draw inspiration from: There's a well known and successful London chain who are worth a look, but they're also well known for being litigious - so i don't want to put their url down...
