Description
Experience Level: Intermediate
Hello,
I am looking for a pattern-cutter who has an experience in gentlemen’s tailoring or suit construction. Your ability to interpret design sketches and verbal or pictorial specifications into toile, patterns and specification pack for manufacture is essential.
Required Skills:
• Pattern Cutter experience or relevant qualification.
• Prior experience in bespoke tailoring and suit-making
(canvassing and fused techniques).
• Good eye for details and precision.
• Ability to list specification sheets and production notes for manufacture.
• Discretion- must be willing to sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement.
The job requires you to develop a toile from sketches, in appropriate to the design weight and suggested material. Your ability to contribute technical advices on the construction to achieve precise fitting of the garment and desirable effect is highly desirable. The toile will then be modified and corrected as needed until the desirable contour, design and fit are achieved, before committing to the final pattern. The final patterns and specification pack should include all the details (line sheet, tech pack, spec sheet, production method notes) needed by a manufacturer or sample machinist.
The project is a one-off contract and will start with one piece- waistcoat/gilet. Fee of the project is negotiable. When this is successful, further work on subsequent pieces is available.
I am based in Hammersmith, London. If I could work relatively close, somewhere within London would be ideal but I am willing to compromise for the right person.
If this interests you, please send me a list of work experience- you may include any skills, techniques and experience deem relevant. I would highly appreciate it if you could include your past work sample- part of the pattern and the sample you developed from the pattern.
Please get in contact.
Kind regards,
Shane W.
