Description
Experience Level: Intermediate
This is a private job not commercial. This job is open to anyone in any country, I made an error specifying UK only.
I require a small circuit that will be used on a model railway to detect when a loco passes over it. It will be centred around 2 IR LED's, one transmitting a signal and the other receiving it, the LED's will be fixed underneath the track, the signal will go directly upwards to hit a passing loco which will then reflect it back to the receiving LED.
I require the signal to be detected from at least 12" (300mm) and be possible to activate it by passing a hand above the LED's at the required distance. Activation from a distance greater than 12" is not a problem and it would be acceptable to go less but not less than 100mm although 300mm is definitely preferable.
This unit will be working on a model railway with voltage ranging from 12v to 16v DC but the output should be TTL compatible. The circuit should work in both daylight and darkness and varying light conditions between.
I have a unit that does the required job and more as well but no circuit diagram to go with it, I would be happy for someone to produce a schematic from this board but I would, of course, be happier with an original circuit. On the unit I have the signal from the LED is passed to an op-amp, the signal to the transmitting LED also comes from an op-amp.
I only need the circuit diagram along with a list of the component values etc, I am able to produce my own pcb. I will also require the copyright.
Thank you
