Description
Experience Level: Entry
Design details: LANDSCAPING BRIEF
We want to create a contemporary look with clean lines, solid colours and also one that is low maintenance. Our preference is to have raised bedding featuring simple, but striking plants, trees, grasses, bamboos, stones, slates etc., and also any clever use of recycled material. Whilst we are not adverse to flowering plants, we want to avoid traditional floral, herbaceous borders.
The land measures approximately 28 m x 14m down each side of the house (10 metres to house) (approx. 392 sq metres) and faces North East.
From the front boundary the land declines gently towards the property by a gradient of about .5 metres across 10 metres to the house.
The front of the property has been levelled and, therefore, has no features that need to be retained. The sub-grade is medium to heavy clay. It has been given an initial layer of Geotextile fabric (unwoven) and has been surfaced with 100mm of crushed concrete sub-base.
The gas tank in photo will be relocated to another site to the rear of the property. The large trees on the front boundary on the plan have been removed.
A garage will be situated on the RHS as per the drawing attached(please note that all measurements are approximate).
There has to be a retaining wall to the bed on the LHS where we adjoin our neighbours boundary, as the ground levels are very different.
The driveway will be ‘drive in/drive out’ as per plan. Each gateway is approximately 3 metres in width (depending on type of gates installed)
Drainage (Aco’s) is being installed across the driveway entrance and exit and also to the front and sides of the property.
The final design should include the following: 2d and 3d rendering, planting suggestions that fit in with the UK climate and are mainly deciduous (no annuals please), a full list of building materials
We have Pinterest boards and more photos which we will forward to designers who we feel could meet our requirements.
If you require any further information please do not hesitate to ask!
