Hero leather bag design for a new womens bag brand

We are looking to work with a designer who has previously created commercially successful leather bag. The leather bag could be a backpack, crossbody style day bag or belt bag, a bucket bag or a mini handbag. The designers responding to the project should be able to recommend a particular style (backpack/ crossbody/belt bag/ bucket bag) that they feel really strong about based on their expertise in designing/ trend awareness and justify why we should go for that as our first bag.

The designer should be able to demonstrate their choice of particular bag style based on fashion trend reports for 2020. Please feel free to submit a design from your portfolio that was picked up by any retailer -- high street or high end fashion.

The price points for the brand are £200 to £300 -- affordable luxury. We believe you should be able to buy a decent good quality leather bag for that much. the designer should also be able to provide solid sourcing advice for leather bags, from EU or elsewhere. If you have experience of sourcing from Ubrique or Portugal, please add that in your proposal.

Also in the final techpack, the estimate cost pricing for a particular bag that has been designed. so we have a benchmark..when we are looking for suppliers. Please add in what would be your lead time for delivery of the final design and tech pack.

the brand aims to create a high quality desirable bag that becomes a must have for the bloggers/influencers. Target audience is Millenial women 18 to 34 that shop on social media. We would be looking to promote the collection with an influencer.


we are looking to launch the new brand with a kickstarter/ indiegogo funding campaign. we would be requiring the selected designers to sign the NDA agreement and be willing to be featured in the campaign launch video. we might ask you to send a video clip about your contribution in the project or if budget/ location allows.. bring you in to video shoot location.

Designer should be able to communicate over phone or WhatsApp. All payments will be made on people per hour.

1. complete brand artwork/ story. Moodboards to give you an idea about the shapes / designs that inspire us for a bag.
2. brand toolkit created by branding agency to help develop unique identity in the bag designs.
3. more details key info on target audience so the product is developed accordingly.
4. competition report.
5. final boxed packaging designs have been developed and will be shared.
6. details about the launch and marketing strategy and your role in it.

We are aiming to work with fashion PR and an influencer to give this project the best chance of winning solid funding. More then one proposal might be selected..we want to give you an opportunity to create the best bag that is highly desirable whether its a backpack or a bucket bag..play by your strength.
