ABOUT THE COLLECTION
I need an experienced fashion designer to create a collection of six (6) looks for a start up resort/cruise brand based on the attached moodboards. The collection should be designed with sustainability and earth-friendliness in mind - no excess or materials which are unnecessary, wasteful, harmful to the planet, or harmful to people.
The collection must be designed using fabric that is easy to pack and clean, lightweight, breathable, and look great without ironing.
All articles witnin the collection must compliment eachother.
THE FASHION
The designer must have able to offer suggestions for fabric, trims, measurements, application and other aspects of design.
The designer will be given the following to assist the design process:
- The buyer's artwork titled, 'Junkanoo Dreaming' . These are the buyer's exclusive textile repeats. The designer must apply color to the repeats using the color palette provided. The designer will create colorways from the palette which best compliment each article of clothing and the collection.
-Color palette with pantone color codes
-Textile prints moodboards. These include effects that are to be added to the buyer's textile repeats in order to create the required collage style mix of prints.
-Apparel moodboards. These include the buyer's suggestions for looks and details although the designer may also make suggestions based on her design experience.
The final design must feature a colorful collage style mix of African inspired prints. The prints will include a combination of the buyer's textile repeats (which will be provided) and the designer's own artistic affects (which will be discussed and decided with the buyer before the start of the project). The designer's art is to be incorporated at the designer's discretion whereever necessary so as to be most complimentary to the print, the clothing, and the collection in general.
For example, one of the looks may be a dress that requires a Junkanoo dreaming print applied in a collage style + a water color painting effect. SInce there is no textile repeat with a watercolor effect, the designer would be required to create this effect and incorporate it in the collage style print.
The designer can choose which repeats to use and on which designs. The designer is also required to choose the best layout/placement of the print for the greatest appeal.
The final textile print which would include both the buyer's repeats and the designer's effects is to be reflected in the final delivery as a separate work of art in hi-resolution, ready for printing.
THE ILLUSTRATIONS
The fashion designer / illustrator must present the completed clothing design in full color on a realistic illustration of a female body from head to toe, both front and back views.
There should be two separate female model/illustrations used, the features of which must be drawn to the buyer's specifications.
The illustration of the clothing design should include a full color of the final textile print demonstrating the correct placement of the textile print on the apparel/body. There should also be a separate illustration of a flat, open layout of the final textile print either next to the female body or as a separate image/file.
The female body illustration should accurately show how the clothing should be worn and how it should fit, with the female model's measurements including for scale (if possible).
The designer/illustrator agrees to create unique illustrations for this project which will remain exclusive to this buyer and project. The fashion designer/ illustrator agrees to illustrate special features based on the buyer's specifications /request (for example, draw clothing designs on the illustration of a very dark skinned woman so dark her skin is nearly black, full lips and long dreadlocks, etc. or a white woman in her forties with short brown hair, etc.).
TERMS
The fashion designer illustrator must keep all details of the project completely confidential and by accepting the project agrees not to share any aspects of the project with a third party for any reason.
The designer will allow two revisions per clothing.
All designs are to be delivered as hi-resolution vector files with source files.
Buyer agrees that all designs, illustrations and artwork become the sole ownership of the buyer.
Any further details about the collection including terms and expectations will be discussed prior to the start of the project and the proposal brief may be amended here based on that discussion.
