Experience Level: Intermediate
Estimated project duration: less than 1 week
Design details: In preparation for a targeted marketing campaign promoting our forthcoming education exhibition through Facebook we invite proposals from designers with a strong background in original, high-impact social media advertisement design.
Based on visuals from our previous campaigns you will refresh the aesthetic and create a series of 12 new images, all of which have two versions, one of which is optimized for Facebook mobile and the other for web.
Target Audience
The Study World exhibition will take place at 5 locations in Taiwan over 5 days at the end of February. The target audience therefore encompasses four main groups: (1) Taiwanese high-school students, (2) Taiwanese university students, (3) young Taiwanese professionals in full-time work who aspire to study overseas, and (4) the parents of the first three groups. The majority of our target audience is female, however we do still have a significant proportion of males.
Aesthetic
As you will see from our previous visuals, our aesthetic is bright, eye-catching and informal. We are trying to communicate our friendliness and approachability and encourage potential visitors to attend the exhibition. It is important that these general qualities are retained in the new visual material. Please work with the following guidelines:
1. Pink.
2. Informal (but professional).
3. Paint-splash theme.
4. Modern
5. Stylish
6. Generally more appealing to females.
7. <20% text.
8. The female model in our original image should ideally be kept but we are open to leaving that component out.
9. Some images should contain a ‘call to action’ button.
Additional Considerations
General background about our exhibitions to bear in mind while designing the advertiseements:
1. Once selected, we will provide the designer with all specific ad content and different iterations. This will be in Chinese.
2. There is a world of options under one roof, and attending one of our exhibitions will satisfy any visitor’s needs. For example, we have educational institutions of all levels, from numerous countries, and all budgets in attendance.
3. The exhibitions are free to attend.
4. Regardless of where in Taiwan a visitor lives, we will be exhibiting at a location very close to them. In a word; convenience.
Measures of Success
The success of the campaign and the images will be judged according to their impact on the following:
• An increase in the total registrations for our exhibitions.
• Increased engagement and ad click-through to our website.
• A strong aesthetic that can be expanded upon in future.
Ideally we are hoping to work with a designer who will be able to contribute as a freelancer on a regular basis on a variety of marketing projects.
Target audience: Taiwan students, parents, and young professionals.
Banner sizes: Facebook ads optimised for mobile and desktop + event page profile photo and cover photo.
Banner content: Static with some call to action buttons.
Ideas for the visual style: Paint-splash. Informal, modern, stylish.
Things to avoid: Text must be less than 20% of ad area.
Preferred colors: Pink
