Add Hungarian & Romanian Diacritics to Semi Light Times Now.ttf

Project Description

We are looking for a font designer / type specialist to help us extend an existing font file.

1. Base font

Font: Semi Light Times Now.ttf

Format: .TTF (we will provide the file, within the limits of the license)

2. What we need added

We need the font to fully support Hungarian and Romanian.

Hungarian glyphs:

á, é, í, ó, ö, ő, ú, ü, ű

Romanian diacritics (correct forms):

ă, Ă, â, Â, î, Î, ș, Ș, ț, Ț

Requirements:

All new glyphs must match the existing Semi Light weight and style.

Proportions, stroke thickness and visual style should be coherent with the rest of the font.

Proper kerning and spacing for use in body text (paragraphs) in both Hungarian and Romanian.

3. Possible solutions

We are open to two options:

Option 1 – Modify our existing font

Edit Semi Light Times Now.ttf to add the missing characters.

Deliver:

Final .TTF file (and .OTF if possible)

Short note / changelog explaining what was added or changed

Option 2 – Recommend a similar commercial font

If a very similar font already exists with full Hungarian + Romanian support, we are open to buying that font instead, if it matches the style closely.

In that case, we will pay you for:

Research and recommendation

Direct link to the official purchase page (foundry / marketplace)

4. What we expect from you

Please only apply if you have experience with type design or font editing tools such as Glyphs, FontLab, FontForge, etc.

Ideally, you can show:

Previous projects where you added diacritics / Central & Eastern European characters (RO, HU, PL, CZ, etc.)

Understanding of:

Kerning, hinting basics, overshoot

How fonts behave in real text (not only in headlines)

5. Final deliverables

Updated font with:

Hungarian letters: á, é, í, ó, ö, ő, ú, ü, ű

Romanian diacritics: ă, Ă, â, Â, î, Î, ș, Ș, ț, Ț

Formats:

At minimum: .TTF

Ideally: .TTF + .OTF

Short installation note and any relevant information on limitations / technical details.

6. What to include in your proposal

Please include:

Total price for the project (or separate prices for Option 1 and Option 2, if you offer both)

Estimated timeframe to deliver the final font

1–3 relevant portfolio examples (fonts where you added diacritics or supported extra languages)

Any comments on licensing or technical constraints we should be aware of

7. Licensing and legal

We want to fully respect the license and copyright of the original font.
