Description
Experience Level: Expert
This project initially is so I can help my mum. She has advanced dementia and is bedridden and little mobility. She gets distressed when carers help to dress her, so I would like to create an adaptive top to help her and hopefully others too.
I am a private customer looking to hire a professional garment technologist or pattern cutter to create a commercial Tech Pack and digital pattern files for me.
This is a request for a freelancer to complete a task for my mums new top and maybe a new business venture.
I need a package price that includes the initial design setup, the base pattern creation, and grading for three sizes in total: Size Small (the base size), Size Medium, and Size Large.
Please provide your all-inclusive bundle quote for this task.
The Design Specifications for the Freelancer to Complete: Neckline & Sleeve Style: A flattering, non-restrictive small scoop neck. Full-length, classic long sleeves featuring wide, generous armholes and relaxed cuffs to make dressing stiff limbs effortless for care assistants. Fabric Structure: Optimized for a lightweight, highly breathable Polycotton Single Jersey Knit fabric (65% Polyester / 35% Combed Cotton, weight 140 to 160gsm).Front View: Clean, classic fashion appearance to preserve user dignity. Back View: Completely open split down the back (no central seam). It must feature a generous 15cm to 20cm fabric overlap (Right panel wrapping over Left panel) to ensure full modesty and privacy when the patient is rolled onto their side by staff. Fasteners & Stabilization: Two ultra-flat, lightweight Size 16 (T3) Plastic Resin Snaps / Poppers positioned strictly on top of each shoulder line. Absolutely NO magnetic components and NO metal snaps due to pacemaker safety.
Fabric Reinforcement: The tech pack must specify a hidden strip of clear elastic stay-tape inside the shoulder seams to prevent sagging, alongside a fused, non-stretch woven interlining backing directly behind the snaps to prevent tearing.
Laundry Care Instructions: Optimized for standard care home resident washes at 30°C / 40°C with low-setting tumble drying. All seams must be specified for industrial-grade durability (4-thread overlock with a safety stitch).
Deliverables Needed From the Freelancer: A production-ready Tech Pack detailing materials, component dimensions, stitching specifications, and care instructions. The graded digital pattern files for Sizes Small, Medium, and Large (ideally in .DXF or .PDF format). I would be very grateful if you can message me with your estimated bundle quote, your timeline for completion, and a few examples of your previous tech pack work.
Best wishes
Jo
