Description
Experience Level: Entry
I am looking for an experienced freelance soft goods developer, sample machinist, or industrial sewing specialist to help create a physical prototype for a hygienic pint glass sleeve.
Please note: This is a functional product development project, NOT a garment/clothing project.
The Project:
The goal is to create [insert number, e.g., 2 to 3] physical prototypes of a sleeve that slips onto a standard pint glass. The final product needs to be hygienic, durable, and easy to clean.
What I need from you:
Material Advice: Assistance in selecting or confirming the right technical fabric for the job (e.g., neoprene, scuba, antimicrobial textiles, or insulated stretchy fabrics).
Pattern Development: Help finalizing the flat pattern/dimensions so it fits tightly around a standard pint glass without slipping.
Prototype Construction: High-quality sewing, cleanly finished edges, and secure seams that can handle being stretched onto glassware repeatedly. Ideal Freelancer:
Experience in soft goods design, accessory sampling, or industrial/technical textile sewing.
Access to appropriate machinery for stretchy, thick, or technical fabrics (e.g., overlocker/serger or walking foot machine, depending on the material chosen).
Great communication and willingness to collaborate on a first-stage prototype.
To Apply:
Please share a brief message detailing your experience with soft goods or accessory sewing, and a link to any relevant examples of your work (bags, sleeves, cases, or technical textile projects).
Note: I am happy to share further design details and dimensions once we connect.
