Looking from the top, the two L hand corners are rounded, nothing underneath.
Near R hand corner top layer is round, bottom layer is square, and is attached by a piano hinge. Not a lot or room to go underneath with an elastic. Understood, this corner will not look great :)
R far corner is square, but room for elastic beneath it.

Solid denim colored blue fabric (to sort of match the upholstery). Not thin like a sheet, but with enough thickness to protect the table finish from my laptop.
