Description
Experience Level: Intermediate
Take direction and be able to work with on building a new brand, which requires initial shopping and website market research, helping to find the gap in the market and the reason for being.
Would be able to come up with a good colour palette, and be good at sourcing fabrics needed..... a bonus would be if that person knew a lot of factories and suppliers already.... Would be able to work with signing off on lab dips, prints, bulk fabric....
Would be able to build an initial line plan with you, which is basically, which four or six garments do we want to start the line with ? They would need to have a commercial eye and be able to identify which are the key garments that you need.
Would be able to come up with original ideas for the silhouette of the garments and all the small design details.
Would have a good understanding of garment construction, and manufacturing and critical path. Needs to be able to do all the checking of all the prototype samples and make the needed corrections on them, all the way from first prototype to the mass produced garment.
Would be able to create flat sketches for factories, and would be able to create design tech packs, for the factory to follow.
Would be able to attend fit sessions and make sure the fits are all correct.
Also would be able to grade all the sizes of each garment.
Would be able to check all labelling, embroidery, all swing tickets, to make sure that they are correct.
It would be a real bonus if this person could also produce good storyboards / mood boards , and good design presentation boards ( you don't always need on body fashion illustrations for good design boards ) ( these are the boards with all of the garments on them, drawn flat off the body, and presented all neatly on one board )
