Description
Experience Level: Intermediate
Estimated project duration: Ongoing
20 hours per week | Open to negotiations on hourly wage / monthly salary
We are a small yet steadily growing clothing brand specialising in custom-fit clothing, using a made-to-order business model. We are in need of a seamstress with several years of cut-and-sew experience, to create patterns and sew high quality products with clean finishes that are ready to be fitted directly onto the customer. Including dresses, tops, trousers, and coats.
Keen to have someone start on a part-time basis (20 hours per week) and eventually work with us permanently. This is a WFH opportunity, or feel free to work from your own studio.
Responsibilities:
- Create patterns from the designs provided by the designer
- Cut and sew fabrics according to specific measurements provided by the customer
- Use hand sewing techniques, a sewing machine (and any other suitable machines you have) to assemble garments
- Make garment amendments after customer fittings
- Adjust tools and techniques according to the type of fabric you are working with
eg. delicate fabrics like satin, lace, silk, and chiffon, as well as tougher fabrics including leather and denim
- Ensure that each garment is of high quality and meets our brand standards
- Work very closely with the team to share updates on order processing, and troubleshoot any issues as soon as they arise
Requirements:
- At least 5 years seamstress or tailoring experience
- Based in London
- Ability to work from home and provide your own sewing machine and tools
- Experience working with delicate fabrics and tougher fabrics as outlined above
- Strong attention to detail and able to communicate effectively
- Ability to meet deadlines and manage your own schedule
- Flexibility with hours
If this sounds like what you're looking for, please do apply. We are looking for someone to become part of our team and passionately own this side of the business. Kindly share your hourly fee, and monthly salary for consideration (based on an average of 20 hours per week).
