Residential HVAC Design Engineer (Ongoing Work)

We are looking for experienced residential HVAC design engineers who regularly perform load calculations, equipment selection, and duct design for U.S. residential projects.

We are currently evaluating long-term partnerships for a growing pipeline of residential HVAC design work and would like to understand typical workflows, turnaround times, pricing, and deliverables from experienced professionals in the industry.

Scope of Work

For an initial project, we need a complete HVAC design package for a 5-bedroom single-family residence, including:

Manual J load calculations
Manual S equipment selection
Manual D duct design
Room-by-room airflow calculations
Supply and return layout
Register and grille sizing
Equipment schedule
Duct fabrication details
Bill of materials
Installation notes
Deliverables
Load calculation report
Equipment sizing documentation
HVAC design drawings (PDF)
CAD files (preferred)
Duct layouts and fabrication details
Material takeoff / bill of materials
What We'd Like to Learn

Please include:

Your typical turnaround time
Your pricing model (per project or hourly)
Software used (Wrightsoft, Elite, CoolCalc, AutoCAD, Revit, etc.)
Number of residential HVAC designs completed
Whether you work directly with contractors or homeowners


Ideal Candidate
Strong experience with U.S. residential HVAC systems
Familiarity with ACCA Manual J, S, and D methodologies
Experience delivering fabrication-ready duct designs
Previous work with HVAC contractors preferred
