Hello,
Basically this is the issue with a project which we have worked on.
I need a report form a structural engineer based on your findings involving a dispute with a client.
As you can see from the files attached we did some work on a roof. The wall height to rear elevation shows the brick height should have stopped in line with the existing properties brick height, however this turned out to be a mistake with the plans as then the internal ceiling height of the new extension ceilings would not match with that of existing properties ceiling heights so the wall height was increased.
This meant that the roof then ran further back into the existing properties pitched roof, and although the structural steels were in the same position along the existing property rear wall they had to be raised higher to allow for the extra ceiling height- the plywood, insulation, roofing felt etc ran to a much further back into the existing pitched roof which meant much larger labour and material costs for us as a company, which the client is disputing.
I am looking for an honest and independent review of the structural plans we were provided with at quoting stage (as we had costed the roof at around 30-33 m2 but with the increased wall height, it runs into the roof higher and the actual size is now 58m2.
Is this something you can help with?
