Façade Engineer – Design Development / VE Stage (UK Project)

We are currently progressing a residential project in London and are looking to engage a façade engineer on a short-term basis to support a design development / value engineering stage.

The requirement is for a practical, buildability-led review of the façade package, rather than a full façade engineering design role.

Scope includes:

Development of façade build-up and technical strategy
Coordination of key interfaces (SFS, brickwork, windows, balconies)
Identification of value engineering opportunities
Production of a limited number of key interface details
Input into buildability and construction sequencing

Project context:

Brick outer skin (client-supplied bricks)
SFS backing structure (by others)
Spandrel panels and limited curtain walling zones
Currently in VE stage due to cost pressures

What we are looking for:

Strong practical experience in façade systems (UK projects)
Ability to identify cost-saving opportunities and simplify build-ups
Experience working alongside contractors / subcontractors
Proactive and commercially aware approach

Deliverables:

VE commentary / recommendations
4–6 key façade details
Mark-ups of existing drawings

Important:
This is not a full design liability role — focus is on design development and coordination to support decision-making at this stage.
