Description
Experience Level: Intermediate
Design details: I need a design of Aluminium Fishing boat under 7m long. This design has to be of the boat that is 6950mm long as it will be suitable for lesser certification requirements by governing body in UK.
Ideas for the visual style: Scetches will be provided
Extra notes: The design of this boat have to confirm to all requirements out lined by Seafish. List of construction requirements can be found here - http://www.seafish.org/industry-support/marine-survey/construction-standards
Ideas for the visual style: will provide scetches
Extra notes:
Here is some targets that i need this boat to achieve. Please note that this targets are not set in stone and can be modified or adjusted in order to gain benefit or avoid complication in the build.
Overall length - 6950mm
Beam - 2700mm
Hull type - semi plaining.
Cruising speed of 17 knots (loaded)
Boat to go plaining in the range of 10 knots when loaded
The plan is to use B - rated engine to produce the power ( http://www.hendypower.co.uk/media/7664/hendy_fpt_iveco_nef_n67_280_diesel_marine_engine.pdf ) this is quite large and heavy engine but in B rating it will give 1500 hours of use per year, which will be sufficient for small fishing boat. On the performance graphs you will see that B - rated engine will have around 200HP at 2000 RPM which is the most economical and fuel efficient rpm. Even if you compare it to the smaller and lighter engine http://www.hendypower.co.uk/media/7272/fpt_iveco_sofim_s30_230_diesel_marine_engine.pdf you will see that smaller engine produce less power and also use more fuel to do so.
Power from the engine will be transferred to Namjet drive TJ381HH or TJ457HT model via hydraulic system.
The choice of Jet drive and the engine will be directly dependent on weigh of the boat and hull speed of the design.
You must think of this design as base platform of the working boat. This base boat can be modified in the future with various accessories that will allow owners to do all sorts of fishing with the same fishing boat. We will not need to design all of those accessories right away but we will need to design the boat that will be able to accommodate all off those accessories.
Accessories description.
1. Shrimp trawling or Scallops dredging - Right behind the wheel house there will be a station that is bolted to the deck, on the top of it there will be articulated arm that will assist on bringing catch a board and two beams will be fixed to that station from port and starboard sides, they will be hydraulically powered so you can turn them and bring them in or out when you need. When you are trawling, beams are out to the sided, when on the move, they will be placed down onto the support frame on the stern of the boat
On this image beams are stored upwards instead of support frame on the back, i do not like it as it decrease stability during movement to and from fishing grounds. https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=trawling+boat&biw=1922&bih=1010&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwjg_NCBrZXLAhVDxRQKHQczAG4Q_AUIBigB#tbm=isch&q=shrimp+trawling+boat&imgrc=Oz0u4ECoWWUNEM%3A
http://www.fao.org/docrep/005/ac740t/AC740T64.gif
On the forward and aft side of the station there will be winches that will feed wire ropes in order to lower or bring up the nets
2. Lobster and crab potting - you can see working process in the video

As part of the design there must be open able door at the stern to allow krill's to be dragged out you can see the door here 1:43 into the video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O-Mco2sFw8g
also at 2:20 you will see the roller and hydraulically powered winch that takes krill's in.
here is a couple of more videos where you can see whole set up including working table.
