Description
Experience Level: Expert
Estimated project duration: 3 - 4 weeks
Information for the business: We exist to protect "life" from the effects of High Voltages globally (including lightning). We take what is traditionally a difficult to understand, complex subject and using the latest software tools and simulation techniques, we intelligently turn the complex into easy-to-understand visual maps showing clients where their risks lie.
Industry: Technology
Design details: Currently - the visual maps are 2D static plots... what I'd like to convey is what these plots actually represent by showing what happens to the electricity during a 'fault'.
We have 3D wire models of buildings and the overhead electricity towers (pylons), etc.... it would be nice to show the flow of current into a rendered ground.
Ideas for the visual style: Building with overhead lines, rendered externals
Urls to draw inspiration from: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RpEJtGFfRq0
Extra notes: The youtube example shows a surge device... what we're trying to convey is this but on a 'site' basis... for example, on a large scale data-centre when the overhead line feed carries a fault (could be lightning!).
