Production editor

Magazine/print production editor required.

We're a thriving young publishing company in Richmond, Surrey with 5 monthly mags, 1 bi-monthly and 1 quarterly title.

Some we own, others we contract publishing (SKY Business is our biggest client). We are currently looking for a production editor who can help us take the magazines from subbing copy through proofs right through to print.

Can you help? The idea applicant would be able to:
%u2022 Sub copy; write headlines and captions
%u2022 Proof
%u2022 Chase copy
%u2022 Flat plan
%u2022 Liaise with designers and printers
%u2022 Handle mailing details and data
%u2022 Understand printing techniques and - in an ideal world - have a working knowledge of Quark (for proofing pages)
Personality
%u2022 Good telephone manner and able to get the best out of suppliers etc
%u2022 Cheerful
%u2022 ...and of course calm under pressure!
