Description
Experience Level: Intermediate
An opportunity has arisen for a short-term freelance retainer arrangement on the basis of 20 hours per week for eight weeks (circa. 160 hours).
Over that term we shall work on designing (from a blank sheet and / or improving existing products) several new products related to decorating products e.g. products that prepare surfaces prior to decoration and products that help to apply decorative surfaces. Whilst the work is predominantly focussed on product design, there may be instances were some artwork / packaging work is also required.
We believe there is great scope to bring new product designs to market that makes peoples decorating tasks better, and easier to use with products that look contemporary and differentiated. In this respect, the successful candidate will be part of a team that shall change a market for many years to come.
The successful candidate shall have a portfolio that demonstrates great aesthetic styling as well as strong problem solving and technical design skills. In addition, the candidate will preferably live or work close to Nottingham / Derby although this is not a necessity.
A pre-requisite of starting the project is signing a product development agreement which outlines the confidential obligations of the project and confirms ownership in all work belong to us. In addition, prior to starting the work the successful candidate shall attend a briefing meeting whereby the projects will be explained and samples exchanged. All work shall be delivered to us in a fully usable and editable form, and may include production files and specification sheets to support the projects.
Note: should the projects prove successful we shall consider continuing the agreement into the future (subject to contract).
