Covert our present catalogue into 3D

We supply a wide range of storage and transport systems for the catering industry. At present our catalogue is produced by manufacturing product and then sending them to a photographer. This can be very time consuming and expensive for us. Having seen a demonstration on Solid Works we would like to transfer our catalogue from photo to 3D. In addition we would like to be able to send drawings off to our customers for approval prior to manufacture for bespoke items. We have recently been looking at purchasing a Solid Works package and employing a Design Engineer but would be interested to see what we feedback we receive from a freelance point of view with regards to costs. I have stated that the job can not be done remotely. This is only on the basis that I feel some visits would need to be made to our factory to ensure accuracy, as we do not have any manufacturing drawings for our products. A high percentage could be done remotely.
