Design details: Design details: I am a sculptor working on a shortlisted proposal for a public sculpture in the shape of a flock of bronze birds, unified by touching wings and tails (see attached image 'lots of birds'. They wont be as rigid as that and rather more fluid, but this is a good starting point.) As this is a very difficult thing to sculpt on a small scale, I am looking for a 3D model or sketches to illustrate my idea.
I have attached an image of the rough shape that the birds will fly in. The intention is that they will start with one (different) bird on the on the ground about to take off, at the point where the shape meets the table (apologies, it was photographed on a glass table, so the background is a bit diffuse). The birds will meet in a manner similar to the one shown in the 'lots of birds' document, spreading them out wide to cover as much space as possible. Some will fold under the shape to create a seat (so sitting directly on top of the birds). The dimensions that I am currently working with are in the region of: Height 150cm, length 250cm and width 120cm. The 'seat' part will be normal seat height - 40-45cm.
I have also attached an image of the bird that I am working on. The dimensions are a bit obscured, but the wing span is 28cm. I estimate that the shape will require in the region of 160 birds (but might be totally wrong).
The sculpture is going in a park and I can provide images of this. I can also photograph both bird and shape from every angle if useful for data capture and provide other (sculpted or drawn) visuals if needed.
I am after an estimate of price and timescales of making a nice, but outline, image of how this would look. My budget is pretty minimal, since this is for a shortlisted pitch rather than a commissioned project. If I am successful in my bid, then I will also be looking for a much more detailed image of this as a working model.

How many birds would go into the sculpture (or is that reference image accurate, given your wingspan and max. size of the sculpture)?
