Estimated project duration: Thursday 22nd May 7am Australian EST
We need some conceptual designs for what we lovingly call our 'DMU - Digital Merchandise Unit. You might call it a large digital screen slung above a pallet of beer cartons! We were inspired by what Labatts did in the US but our unit will need to accommodate more cartons. The following link is well worth a look.
http://www.dailydooh.com/archives/20429
We need two designs one for 36 cartons of beer (a pallet), the other for about half that quantity (give or take to suit the design).
Cartons are typically 880 (h), 1020 (w), 780 (d) but vary somewhat from brand to brand.
Even with the screen turned off we want the design alone to stop shoppers in their tracks. Not because we look like we're trying to be cool but because it's so cleverly designed it really is cool! It's most likely to be a minimalist approach to suspending a screen in the air! High tech materials (no scaffolding like in the Labatts example!). Easy packing and assembly. Can be moved easily around the shop. Nicely lit. Perhaps a gizmo or two - motion activated screen, or the Intel Audience Impression Metric Suite. The screen will be 40 inch, most likely a Samsung. The unit will be produced in the 10's for in market testing and rolled out in the 100's, so avoid expensive tooling.
We will pay AuD$250 for 3 hand drawn (computer renders if you prefer) concepts in the two sizes (so six all up). If your concept is chosen you'll be asked to progress the design ready for prototyping. We'll be judging ideas based on the overall design and we'll be looking for 3 ooh-aah moments. An ooh-ahh moment is any design element that makes you go ooh-aah and sends a shiver up your spine!
5 designers will be asked to submit their ideas which I'll need by 7am Australian EST Thursday 22nd May.
This is your chance to work with iconic Aussie brands like XXXX and Tooheys New and be famous Down Under.
