Description
Experience Level: Intermediate
Summary:
We're looking for a graphic designer, specialising in the web display of financial information, able to work part-time / freelance.
Core skills:
- Work to clearly defined briefs and deadlines
- Proven experience to analyse the user experience and develop intelligent design solutions
- Able to produce design templates that consider the balance of design versus functionality
- Create 'web ready' assets for the development team
- Design for multi platform i.e. all PC and mobile devices when designing any part of the user interface
- Proven ability to create web application interfaces, dashboards and infographics from complex information
Optional skills:
- Familar with the "HighCharts" graphing library
Location and availability required:
- Variable workflow, would suit a freelancer, but part-time would be possible
- Mainly home based
- May need to meet in Southampton, Gatwick or Central London from time to time
About the perfect candidate:
- You'll believe that Edward Tufte is fundamentally right
- You'll love Information Is Beautiful but wish they'd use higher contrast ratios
- You'll understand that there are times when the client just wants a tweak, and times when the need a complete re-design of everything, and accept that the client gets to make the decision which is needed when
- You'll agree that the way businesses get finance in the UK is ripe for disruption and get a serious kick out of being part of that
UPDATE 19/6/13: Job changed to be an "hourly rate" job, rather than a fixed price. Sorry I'd missed this when posting initially - there's clearly nothing like enough info for anyone to quote a fixed price :-)
