Description
Experience Level: Expert
I need somebody to develop a simple webform with the backend being a MySQL Database. This system already exists as an access database and I'd like to migrate it to something a little more robust but do not have the time to do it myself.
If you have another preference on the system, I'm open to suggestions and my budget is not fixed - I would ideally like to speak to somebody, get an idea of the requirements and what is involved and then decide on a fixed price.
Purpose of the system :
The idea behind the system is a Schedule of Events - I will enter the information for an event into the system, I'll enter in the options/extra information if required and submit. This data will be entered into a database where I can run a report to print the events scheduled for a date period (usually daily)
Eg, I enter in 40 separate items for the 10th of September 2013, each one can vary from 'Open door' to 'Perform Packdown' to 'Extra Security required' I run a report on the 10th of September 2013 and it gives me a list, in chronological order (ideally able to change sort order) of all of the events taking place.
I need to be able to view this list online as well as print it (so I could potentially give it to a contractor and say here we go this is what is happening today)
HTML Front End Form
Fields in this form
- Registered Number (Unique ID, generated for each event)
- Date (Ideally click button, calendar appears and they can select the date) OR manual entry of date
- Time Start/begin - critical field
- Time Stop/end - critical field
- Area/Location - This must be a dropdown list, I can provide an existing list, bonus functionality would be to search on this list (eg, I type in Lo and press enter and it shows up Lower Level or a list which match)
- User Requested
- Instructions - Free Text Field, is probably the most important after start/stop time.
- Various checkboxes which I ideally can edit as needed
PLEASE see attached picture for current interface - this is what I want to replicate in a web based system, ideally make it prettier and more user friendly.
- DUPLICATE button, enables me to duplicate multiple records, eg I have an event running on the first Saturday of every month, instead I would like to press this and duplicate for X amount of days.
There are no branding/logo requirements but I can send something through if that is needed.
System needs to be portable - eg I can load it up on a Centos machine here or a Redhat machine or wherever - my preference is MySQL Backend / HTML / PHP Frontend because I have experience with this.
Timeframe - however long you estimate.
In my mind this system isn't amazingly complex, there are a lot of bits and pieces I'd like to change and modify and to get value adds which I am happy to talk about later on.
Please contact me if you need any further information.
Cheers
