Add a slight modification to the standard shipping module to allow for an Override rate to be entered within the product editing screen
Specification from client as follows...
Mainland UK Delivery (This should be possible within the standard shipping component)
Orders Under £100 (inc vat) - £4.95+vat shipping
Orders Over £100 (inc vat) - Free Shipping
Carriage Overrider. - (This should be in the form of an extra Field within the product editing screen)
An option to overide any of the above shipping rates and place a custom shipping rate on any particular product. (This will be used for heavier products that require pallet transportation)
Only one carriage charge should ever be applied to one order. If there is multiple products in the cart and one of which has the custom shipping rate then this would override any other rates.
If there are more than 1 Overriden prices in the basket then the Highest Price should be used.
My 1st impressions are to create a new "Custom field" within VM2 - then apply some new logic to a duplicate copy of the standard shipping module to allow the required calculations. But I'm open to other suggestions.
Also there should not be any core hacks
